    1.         Legislative Update (Mr. Liner)
 
 
2.         Construction Status Reports for the Aiken High School Phase 2B Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
 
            In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD., and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
 
3.         Construction Status Reports for the New Aiken County Adult Education Center (Midland Valley Adult Education) Project (Dr. Foster)
 
            In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
 
4.         Construction Status Reports for the North Augusta High School 2B Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
 
            In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
 
5.         Construction Status Reports for the Midland Valley High Football Stadium Project (Dr. Foster)
 
            In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
 
 
  1. CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group.  Individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
 
1.GMP #1 for Ridge Spring-Monetta High Addition Phase II Project (Dr. Foster)
 
H.G. Reynolds Company, Inc. received bids for CM at Risk for Ridge Spring-Monetta High Addition Phase 2 Project.  The original construction budget approved by the Board on June 12, 2018, final construction document estimate was $32,523,560.00.  The GMP #1 for the Phase II Addition is $32,217,171.00 or $306,389.00 under the construction budget.  The road widening SCDOT requirement on Trojan Road was not originally included and amounts to approximately $750,000.00.  The total budget needed in $39,626,595.00 which includes an owner project contingency of 4%.  This is $1,005,813.00 under the original overall budget that was approved by the Board on June 12, 2018.
 
 
2.         Budget Adjustment #2; Fund #2, 3, 8 and 9 (FY18) (Mr. Traxler)
 
            Periodically during the fiscal year, the Division of Fiscal Services submits adjustments to the approved budget as may be required in the conduct of opertaions.
 
  1. INDIVIDUAL ITEMS:
 
 
1.         Personnel Appointments (Ms. Hart)
 
            The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed and approved by the Principals and Executive Directors.
 
 
2.         Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Mr. Laurence)
 
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with the other school districts for the interchange of students.  The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, ‘the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
 
 
   3.         Changes to Policy GDQB Resignation of Support Staff - Frist Reading    
    (Mr. Laurence)
 
This policy establishes the basic structure for the resignation of support staff members.
 
 
4.         Changes to Policy GDO Evaluation of Support Staff – First Reading (Mr. Laurence)
 
This policy establishes the basic structure for evaluation of support staff to ensure accountability.
 
 
5.         Changes to Policy GCB Professional Staff Contracts and Compensation – First Reading (Mr. Laurence)
 
This policy establishes the structure for professional staff contracts and compensation.  Recent legislation extends the annual deadline for boards of trustees to extend offers of reemployment to teachers.  SECTION 59-25-410 of the S.C. Code 1976, as amended states, “The boards of trustees of the several school districts annually before May first shall decide and notify, in writing, a teacher, as defined in Section 59-1-130, whom the district employs concerning his reemployment for the ensuing year.”
 
 
 
             6.         Results from Banking Services Request for Proposal (RFP) (Mr. Traxler)
 
A request for proposals for banking services was issued by early May 2018.  Proposals were due by Friday, June 8, 2018.
