A.             INFORMATIONAL ITEMS:  The following items are for information only and do not require     
              Board action. 

 1.         Restroom/Concession Stand at Perry Park (Dr. Foster) 

          The City of Aiken is building a restroom/concession stand at Perry Park located behind Schofield Middle School.

 

 2.         Legislative Update (Mr. Liner) 

 

B.             CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group.  Individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 

 1.         Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Dr. Stowe) 

            Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.  The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.” 

 

 2.         Demolition of Mobiles and Canopy at Aiken High School (Dr. Foster) 

            The administration needs to demolish the mobiles and canopy at Aiken High School to get ready for Phase 2A construction utilizing Sales Tax Bond Money.  These mobiles and possibly mobiles at Oakwood-Windsor Elementary have no value. 

 

 3.         Change Order Number 3 for the 2015 Installation of Flooring at South Aiken High, East Aiken Elementary, Millbrook Elementary, Belvedere Elementary & Chukker Creek Elementary (hallways @ new building) (Dr. Foster) 

         Change Order Number 3 includes unforeseen prep and leveling of concrete subflooring after abatement and removal of existing flooring at Belvedere Elementary in the total amount of $47,000.00. 

 

4.       Sunshine House Donation to Chukker Creek Elementary School – FY16 (Mr. Laurence) 

            Chukker Creek Elementary School was given a $1,132.77 donation from Sunshine House.  The funds from this donation will be used to purchase janitorial supplies, printer ink, and LCD replacement bulbs. 

 

5.         Schematic Plans for the Aiken High School Addition Phase 2A & 2B Project (Dr. Foster) 

             The administration has completed the scope of educational needs for the Aiken High School Addition Phase 2A & 2B Project.  The architectural firm of LS3P has utilized this scope to produce the schematic design plans for this school. 

 

C.        INDIVIDUAL ITEMS: 

   1.         Personnel Appointments (Dr. Hewett) 

          The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Personnel Services Department and interviewed and approved by the Principal and Academic Officers.
